Putting on Your Clamshell LSO or TLSO
Sitting at the Edge of the Bed
Description:
The clamshell brace consists of front and back pieces made specifically for your body. The pieces are labeled “Top Front” and “Top Back”.
How to put it on:
- Logroll to your side and come to a seated position on the edge of the bed.
- Position the back piece of the brace low on your back (the bottom of the brace should sit right over the top of your hip bones). Then position the front piece of the brace low across your stomach.
- Pull the two straps on each side of the bottom of the brace through the bottom loops and attach to the Velcro. Do the same with the middle and upper straps. Tighten the straps as needed. You may need to re-tighten the brace in standing.
Tip:
When it is time to take the brace off only undo the straps on one side of the brace. This will allow you to put the brace back on with increased ease the next time.
