    BLINCYTO infusion – CADD Solis Bag Change

     

    Supplies needed for Blincyto IV bag change:

    Saline syringe              CADD Solis pump       

    Gloves                          Alcohol wipes        AA batteries (4)

     

    Prior to Infusion: Verify bag label for correct name, drug, dose, and expiration date.

    1. Prepare clean surface. Wash hands. Put on gloves.

    2. Check assembly of bag & tubing w/cassette.

    3. To STOP PUMP: press stop/start button. When “stop pump?” appears, press ‘Yes’.

    4. Close all tubing clamps, clamp PICC port and disconnect tubing from clear cap.

    5. Open the silver cassette latch on pump to remove the old cassette.

    6. Replace batteries, turn pump on. WAIT for series of 6 beeps.

    7. Latch the new cassette onto the pump by inserting cassette hooks into hinge pins “nooks” on the pump. Press down on cassette so it fits tightly against the pump. Pull slightly down on silver cassette latch, then lock by pulling latch upward.

    8. If latched correctly, Pump beeps, top of screen briefly shows, “Standard Admin Set Latched”.

    9. ‘Reset Reservoir Volume?’ Press ‘Yes’ button.

    10. ALWAYS clean PICC port cap for 15 seconds with alcohol prep before tasks.

    11. DO NOT FLUSH BLINCYTO infusion connection!

    12. Connect new tubing to PICC port cap by pushing in & turn to right.

    13. Press Start/Stop button on pump: ‘Start Pump?’ appears on pump, Press ‘Yes’.

    14. Screen will show green ‘RUNNING’ in middle upper screen.

    15. Green light at top LEFT flashes intermittently when pump is running.

    16. If pump “beeps”, follow prompts on screen to troubleshoot problems. If unable to resolve problem or if you have questions, please call Infusion Nurse.

    17. If Blincyto is disconnected more than 4 hours, you MUST be pre- medicated with IV Steroid before resuming infusion.

     

    REMEMBER:

    • Flush unused lumen (pigtail) daily with 1 Saline syringe.

    • Prepare saline syringe flush: break the seal, open cap & push air out. Unclamp PICC port line. Clean cap with alcohol swab for at least 15 seconds.

    • Connect SALINE and flush the line vigorously, using “push-pause” method.  Close clamp on line.
