- details:
- Join the Pharmacology Department for a seminar by Markus Sperandio, PhD, MD, Ludwig-Maximilians University, Munich.
His lab studies: Neutrophils are the first immune cells during the inflammatory response arriving at sites of tissue damage or pathogen invasion. The Sperandio lab is interested in dissecting the molecular details of this process starting within the intravascular compartment and following neutrophils until they reach their target tissues. Recently, our lab has expanded investigations of this process to the fetus studying the ontogeny and maturation of neutrophil (and platelet) function during fetal life. Additional interests are how glyco-structures and danger signals influence neutrophil recruitment.
