He will give a talk entitled “The ‘Quiet Work’ of Self-Management: Measuring and Characterizing Treatment Burden in People with Chronic Illness.” This talk will address treatment burden and quality of life for people coping with chronic health conditions including cancer. During his presentation he will: (1) define treatment burden and help you to understand why it is important, (2) describe the development of robust measures of treatment burden, (3) explore how treatment burden can be applied to cancer survivors, and (4) identify how treatment burden might be addressed in routine clinical practice. Dr. Eton is joining the staff at NCI this Fall in the Healthcare Delivery Research Program.
