UVa Health System, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery seeks adults with painful osteoarthritis of the shoulder (glenohumeral) joint for a research study.

The purpose of the study is see if an experimental injection called ORTHOVISC is safe and has any effect on this kind of pain. Participants will be assigned randomly to receive either experimental ORTOVISC injection or placebo. The study requires that participants be followed for a minimum of 6 months, with a phone call follow-up at the 12-month time point.
