Attachment Clinic
Therapeutic services for children and families for a variety of problems, including attachment-related issues.

Behavioral Medicine Center
Diagnosis, treatment and prevention of a variety of medical problems caused or aggravated by lifestyle or stress. Short-term and structured, programs are tailored for special problems like migraine and tension headaches; hyperventilation; fecal incontinence; nervous stomach and irritable bowel; TMJ disease; cold hands and feet (Raynaud's); and muscular tics and spasms.

Child and Family Psychiatry
Wide array of services to children, adolescents and their families, including evaluation and treatment for adjustment issues like divorce and school problems; behavior difficulties; attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD); anxiety and depression; eating disorders and other mental health needs.

Consultation Liaison Service
Available for patients hospitalized for a physical illness. Service includes short-term psychotherapy, crisis intervention, substance abuse treatment evaluation and referrals; and capacity evaluations tailored to the hospitalized patient.

Geriatric Psychiatry
Complete diagnosis and treatment of individuals with dementia-related problems, including Alzheimer's disease.

Inpatient Psychiatry
Conducts thorough initial medical/psychiatric assessments on acute, short-term care patients to make accurate diagnoses and identify individual needs. Care provided in a warm and supportive atmosphere. Staff design treatment plans based on patients' individual needs.

Neuropsychology Services
Full array of neuropsychological evaluation and treatment services.

Nursing Home Service
Treatment for behavioral-related issues and staff education.

Outpatient Psychiatry
Multidisciplinary diagnostic services and treatment for psychiatric conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, sexual dysfunction, anxiety and personality disorders.

Under Fives Study Center
Parents, babies and young children five years old and under obtain support to work out problems associated with sleeping, eating, separation and anger.

UVA C.A.R.E.
The University of Virginia's Center for Addiction Research and Education is the site of ongoing research studies on substance abuse for Department of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences. UVa C.A.R.E. is committed to researching new treatment methods that may help individuals on their way to recovery.
