The UVA Health System offers a full range of services in eye care, and have special expertise in the following areas:

- Advanced ophthalmic drug therapy
New technologies and the latest diagnostic equipment include retinal nerve fiber measurement, and optic nerve measurements for detection of glaucoma and diseases of the retina and cornea. UVA also offers:
- Ocular electrophysiology including electroretinograms (ERG) and Electro-oculograms (EOG)
- Corneal topography
- Digital Fundus Photography
- Ophthalmic ultrasound
- Ophthalmic drug therapy
