Head and Neck Surgery
Each year, nearly 70,000 new cases of head and neck cancer will be diagnosed in the United States. That includes cancers of the lips, mouth, throat, and voice box. Eighty-five percent of these can be directly linked to tobacco use.
UVa has a nationally and internationally recognized program for the diagnosis and treatment of malignant and benign head and neck lesions in adults and children. Headed by head and neck surgeon and department chair Dr. Paul Levine, UVa offers some of the most skilled head and neck surgery in the country. Other highly trained UVa physicians are Dr. James Reibel and Dr. Stephen Park.
