Adults ages 45 or older with a history of heart disease, vascular disease or abnormal cholesterol levels are needed for a study looking at the effect of adding extended release niacin to simvastatin (Zocor®). Researchers what to know if this investigational drug combination is effective in reducing the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and other heart related complications. Participants will undergo a physical exam, EKG, and blood tests. Study medication and study-related tests are provided at no charge.
