How to Pay Your Bill
Since billing for medical treatment is very specialized, a patient may receive more than one bill as a result of a single visit. Patients to the UVa Health System may receive bills from both the Health Services Foundation (HSF) and the Medical Center.
Health Services Foundation Billing
HSF bills represent services provided by UVa healthcare professionals such as physicians, physician assistants, dentists, or nurse practitioners. HSF does not pay for hospital services, lab tests, or use of equipment or facilities.
If you have questions about a bill from HSF, please call a patient representative at: (434) 980-6110 or (800) 868-6600.
Further information can also be found on the HSF website.
Medical Center Billing
Medical Center bills represent hospital services associated with either an inpatient (your were in the hospital overnight) or outpatient visits. This includes services such as lab work, x-rays, outpatient surgery, or a stay in the hospital if you were an inpatient.
If you have questions about a bill from the Medical Center, please call Patient Financial Services Customer Service Department at 924-5377 or 1-800-523-4398 (or fax us at 434-982-0873).
Further information can also be found on the Patient Financial Services website.
