Question:
I can find the page I want to edit, but I don't see the green tabs or
the edit button on it. How can I edit the page?
Answer:
Before you can edit content, you must log into a website using a user
account which has editing privileges.
- To do this, go to the bottom of the page and click on the Log In link at the right edge of the page under the site information.
- This will bring up the login box where you can use the username and password you were given.
- Once you have logged in, the login link will be replaced with your name and a Log out link.

Question:
I have files showing up in my navigation menu that I don't want to see
there - but I still want to keep them where they are. Is there a
way to have them there, but hidden from the menu?
Answer:
Yes, there is. While logged in, simply click on the green "Edit"
tab at the top of the page. Once in the Edit Page view, click on
the "Settings" button in the bar below the words "Edit Page".
Check the checkbox next to "Exclude from Navigation" and then click the
"Save" button at the bottom of the page. This will make that page
not show up in the navigation menu.

Something to note - users are often confused when they make this change, yet still see the page name in the navigation menu. The reason is that they are still ON that page; and if you are actually on the page, it always shows up in navigation. If you move off that page, it will vanish from navigation.
Question:
I have a visitor who tells me that one of the items I told them about
being in the navigation menu isn't there. I have gone to the
site, and confirmed that it is there, but is colored red instead of
white. Why can't they see it? And why is it red?
Answer:
Red titles are there to show you, as an editor, all the content - while
at the same time showing you which items are still private and
therefore not visible to users. Anything in red is only visible to you
as an editor because it hasn't been published. In order to
publish it, go to the page and click the pulldown in the green bar
called "State" and switch the state to "Published". The
page will then be accessible to everyone and will show up in the
menu.
