Sally LeBeau is Interim Director of Volunteer Services.  She has been with the Medical Center for 15 years.  She is a Manager in Patient and Guest Services, supervising the Hospitality House, Interpreter Service, Information Desks and Front Door Teams.

LaDelle Irvine is a new Volunteer Coordinator.  She will be working with volunteers in UVA's Transitional Care Hospital and the Emergency Department.

Thursday, March 15th - 10:00 - Noon, Auxiliary Board Meeting, Dining Conference Rooms 2 & 3

Thursday, March 22 - Daffodil Day, volunteers are needed between 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM to fill small vases with daffodils to be delivered to the patients. 

Thursday, March 22 - Gift Shop Sale (9:30 AM - 5:30 PM) in Dining Conference Rooms

Friday, March 23 - Daffodil Sale - Get bunches of daffodils at great prices.   These Daffodils will be sold in the

Many Ways to Support

At UVA Medical Center, there are many ways to help the Hospital Auxiliary: 

  • Support  an Auxiliary Fundraiser
  • Shop in the Gift Shop
  • Buy goods at the Vendor Sales
  • Donate funds (tax deductible) to the Auxiliary Annual Fund or during the holidays to Lights of Love.
  • Become a Volunteer in the Medical Center once a week or for one day or special events.  Please call Volunteer Services at 434-924-5251 if you need more information.

Please Donate

  • Magazines are in great need!  People, Sports Illustrated, Southern Living, children magazines, Any general interest magazine that is less than 1 year. 
  • Hotel toiletries are needed for Hospitality House guests, PLEASE pick up miniature toiletries while traveling. 
  • Clean, clear small vases or small glass jars, free of labels to provide free flowers for patients. No quart sized jars.  
  • Light subject-paperback books for patients and family.

Bring any donated items to the Volunteer Services.

  • Christmas Ornaments gently used or no longer wanted.  October is the time to donate these items for the Ornaments of Christmas Past Sale held the first days in December.

The Eternal Attic, near Foods of All Nations (Ivy Road Shopping Center, 2123 Ivy Rd, Suite A - next to Package Depot) has an account for the UVA Hospital Auxiliary.  

FALL CLEANING?
Please consider donating items you no longer want; i.e. fine china, crystal, antiques or decorative items in good condition. Your generous donation is tax deductible.

Gift Shop & Flourish

The Gift Shop has wonderful items: flowers -arranged by a local florist, mylar balloons, jewelry, scarves, candy, stuffed animals and more.  All the proceeds benefit the UVA Medical Center. Flourish, a Positive Image Boutique is located in the Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center.  It is a shop catering to female and male patients, as well as visitors and staff.  This shop offers hard to find specialized cancer products as well as a variety of gift shop items, i.e. jewelry, scarves, hats and much more.  It is located on the main level (just behind the welcome/check in desk).

Gift Shop Needs Volunteers! 
We can use your help!  We need volunteers for the Gift Shop in the Main Lobby of the UVA Hospital.  Shifts are 4 hours, Mon - Fri, 8am - 8pm. Call the Volunteer Office to sign up or to learn about the shifts,  434.924.5251.

Recording your hours are important to us! By signing in, you let Volunteer Services know who is volunteering in the hospital.   It helps provide a benchmark for measuring the program on a national scale - so all your hours volunteering are important, i.e. emails, phone calls, at home, committees.   Volunteer hours can be used as a "match" in grant proposals and it allows Volunteer Services to thank the volunteers for their contribution to the UVA Medical Center.
