UVA Care Connection – A Commitment to Our Own

UVA Care Connection

As a UVA employee, it’s never been easier for you or a member of your family to enjoy prompt, convenient access to the advanced, expert care available at UVA Health System. UVA Care Connection provides our faculty, staff and their families a link to high-quality, healthcare through a single point of contact.

Just contact us by calling 243.3675 or by completing a short request form. If you are an established patient with a clinic and need to be seen urgently (sick visit) it is recommended that you call the clinic and speak with the nurse.

An ambassador will be on call to:

  • Assist with scheduling appointments
  • Offer guidance on the physician referral process
  • Answer any questions that arise.

You may still call the clinic directly to schedule return appointments. The Health System has committed to providing UVA employees and their families a primary care appointment within 2 business days, non-procedural radiology services within 3 business days, and a specialty care appointment within five business days. Procedures (e.g. colonoscopy, surgery) are not included at this time as they may require physician referral, additional tests or studies and/or insurance authorization.

In order to schedule appointments within the allowable timeframes, employees will be given the option to see an available provider at their chosen location or clinic or to wait for their provider of choice.

Remember, even if you already have a primary care provider—you can use UVA for your specialty care needs and that shuttle service is available to take you to and from your appointments.
