Meet Our Staff
Kathleen Borowitz, M.A. CCC-SLP has been a
Speech-Language Pathologist at the University of Virginia Children ’s
Hospital since 1988. She has worked in both the in and outpatient
settings at the Kluge Children’s Rehabilitation Center and for the last
9 years, has provided acute care speech services to the pediatric units
of the hospital. Kathleen also serves as the speech-language
pathologist to the Craniofacial Clinic at UVa. She completed her
B.A. at Hollins College and her M.S. at Vanderbilt University .

Sherry L. Comer, M.S.
CCC-SLP has been a speech language pathologist at the
University of Virginia since 1993. She received her B.S and M.S
from James Madison University and has worked as a speech language
pathologist with children since 1976. She sees pediatric patients
in the outpatient department at Kluge Children’s Rehab center for both
evaluation and treatment, working with children with neurological and
developmental disorders resulting in difficulty with language,
articulation, fluency, voice, and feeding and swallowing. She can

Lisa Warburton M.S., CCC-SLP has been a Speech-Language Pathologist at the University of Virginia Health System since 1992. She earned her B.S. and M.S. degrees at Radford University. She has twelve years of experience working with adults who have neurologically-based speech-language and swallowing disorders. Lisa provides outpatient services for voice and voice-related disorders, dysphagia, and foreign accent modification. Contact information: lww5u@virginia.edu.
Mary C. Tarbell, M.Ed,
CCC-SLP aka “Polly” Tarbell is a pediatric speech-language
pathologist who has worked at the Kluge Children’s Rehabilitation
Center since graduation from the University of Virginia in 1989.
She is currently a therapist on the inpatient unit at KCRC but has
experience in all of the service provision areas. Her main area
of concentration is the Encouragement Feeding program, an intensive day
treatment program for children with feeding disorders. Contact

Julie M. Pitti,
M.Ed/CCC-SLPis a staff Speech-Language Pathologist at the
University of Virginia Health System. She received her B.S. and
M.Ed. from the University of
Virginia. Julie provides SLP services to adults,
covering all the adult acute and critical care units. She also has
background in home health and pediatric speech pathology. She can be

Lori Deweese Rollins, M.A., CCC-SLP has been a Speech Language Pathologist for eight years and began working as a Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist at the University of Virginia in April of 2006. She primarily sees pediatric patients in the outpatient department at Kluge Children's Rehabilitation Center for both evaluation and treatment. Areas of interest include pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders, pediatric brain injury, and children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
