Internships for Students Enrolled in PT Degree Programs
Please note that UVA does not have an academic program for Physical Therapy. If you are looking for a college/university that has a degree program for Physical Therapy, please see the American Physical Therapy Association website at www.apta.org. Our Student program provides internship opportunities to students already enrolled in academic programs offering degrees in Physical Therapy.
Thank you for your interest in the University of Virginia Health System. Our student program provides clinical affiliations to those students who are already enrolled in an academic program for physical therapy. We offer approximately 7 adult physical therapy clinical affiliations per year. All of these internships are in the acute care, inpatient, setting. The clinical environment is very complex and fast-paced, and thus we generally only accept 2nd and 3rd year students. While completing an affiliation at UVA, students may have one or two clinical instructors and work in one of our six service centers: Neuro, Orthopedics, Heart, Medicine, Surgery, and Intensive Care.
Please contact our Adult Physical Therapy Student Coordinator for more details.
