The Thoracic Cardio Vascular Post Operative Intensive Care Unit at the Univeristy of Virginia Medical Center specializes in the care of immediate post-operative patients from the TCV Surgical Service. Our team of physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other health care professionals work together to provide comprehesive, patient-centered care to these unique patients, their families and loved ones.

As partnering patient care units at UVA's Heart and Vascular Center, the TCV-PO collaborates with the TCV Clinic, Operating Room, Post Anesthesia Recovery Unit, Coronary Care Unit and other ICUs, TCV & Intermediate Care Unit, Medicine/Cardiac Care Unit, and local and state agencies and institutions to ensure optimal patient outcomes across the continuum of care.
