Fellowship Training in Pediatric Critical Care

The Division of Pediatric Critical Care, in the Department of Pediatrics, and affiliated with the UVA Children's Hospital, offers fellowship training leading to board certification in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. This 36-month fellowship is accredited by the American Board of Pediatrics and is designed to provide in-depth clinical and research training in all aspects of pediatric critical care medicine.

The schedule for the three years of training is flexible with equal time given to both clinical training and scholarly activity. Call is taken in-house approximately every 4th night throughout the three years of training.

Because of the smaller size of the fellowship program and the breadth of expertise of our faculty, fellows in Pediatric Critical Care at UVA Children's Hospital have a variety of scholarly activity options readily available to them with close mentorship from critical care or other pediatrics or School of Medicine faculty.
