| Critical Care Fundamentals Curriculum |
- Includes weekly didactic sessions with all division faculty
and fellows to review and discuss topics in the fundamentals of
physiology and pathophysiology of critical care medicine and in
pediatric cardiac critical care, with goals to (1) build a solid
foundation for the clinical practice of critical care that complements
the fellows' experiential learning in the PICU and (2) nurture the
growth of fellows as future academic clinicians, investigators and
educators.

Conferences rotate among:
- Journal Club
- Research in Progress
- Morbidity & Mortality Conferences
- Division Business Meetings
- Fellow's Case of the Month, in which one fellow leads an
evidence-based discussion of a controversial therapeutic or diagnostic
decision required in the face of uncertainty.

- Covers basic issues in Pediatric Critical Care geared to housestaff
rotating through the PICU.
- 2nd and 3rd year fellows are expected to develop several talks for
this series as they advance in proficiency in education.
