PGY2-Pharmacy Informatics Residency
Residency Purpose Statement
The University of Virginia Health System (UVaHS) PGY2-Pharmacy Informatics Residency is one of twelve ASHP-Accredited pharmacy informatics programs in the country. Pharmacists completing the PGY2-Pharmacy Informatics Residency Program will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to obtain informatics pharmacist positions in health care facilities (acute care and ambulatory care settings) and the automation industry. They are proficient in safe and effective medication-use systems, quality assurance, the management of human resources, the management of financial resources, use of technology, and advanced leadership. They are prepared to serve as informatics leaders in acute care and ambulatory care settings.
Recruiting for the 2015-2016 PGY2-Pharmacy Informatics Residency
Representatives from UVaHS will be available during the Residency Showcase on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 from 8:00-11:00 AM at Booth # 5804. We look forward to meeting interested candidates in Anaheim.
The PYG2-Pharmacy Informatics Residency program is designed to offer a unique, hands-on, in-depth experience in both the acute care and ambulatory settings. Focus is placed on automation, electronic health record, and interdisciplinary committee experience. Advanced vendor training in areas of interest is encouraged during the residency.
