PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics
![]() Residency Purpose Statement Pharmacists completing the PGY-2 Pharmacy Informatics Residency Program will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to obtain informatics pharmacist positions in health care facilities (acute care and ambulatory care settings) and the automation industry. They are proficient in safe and effective medication-use systems, quality assurance, the management of human resources, the management of financial resources, use of technology, and advanced leadership. They are prepared to serve as informatics leaders in acute care and ambulatory care settings. The PGY-2 Pharmacy Informatics Residency is currently a candidate for ASHP Accreditation, with an accreditation visit scheduled for March of 2012.
Program
Description
The residency program is designed to offer a unique, hands-on, in-depth experience in both the acute care and ambulatory settings. Focus is placed on automation, electronic health record, and interdisciplinary committee experience. Advanced vendor training in areas of interest is encouraged during the residency.
