Staff Pharmacist-Inpatient Decentral Services
These positions offer the opportunity to join a decentralized patient care team in our Patient-Focused Care practice model. These positions offer participation in pharmacokinetic dosing, management of pharmacotherapy, patient counseling, interdisciplinary team rounding, CPR response, ADR reporting, MUE, and patient monitoring. Pharmacists practice in organized decentral teams; Medicine, Cardiology, Oncology, Pediatrics, Surgery, and Neurosciences. Our department is implementing robotic automation of central order processing and a pneumatic tube delivery system. We currently feature Pyxis point-of-care distribution and physician medication order entry. Qualifications: BS or PharmD degree and eligibility for licensure in the State of Virginia.
Staff Pharmacists – Inpatient Sterile Products
Position in the inpatient sterile products preparation area. Our IV Center is a high volume sterile products operation in an academic medical center, providing LVPs, IVPBs, chemotherapy, and TPN product lines. Pharmacists supervise pharmacy technicians in the preparation and dispensing of a variety of sterile products. Pharmacists will participate in monitoring drug dosing, providing drug information, and assisting in nutritional support.
