Surgical Services

Perioperative Surgical Services is composed of 4 areas providing comprehensive care to the patients and their families:

• Preanesthesia Evaluation & Testing Center (PETC): insures patient preparation by providing patient education, preoperative labwork and testing plus any completion of activities needed for surgery/procedures.
• Surgical Admission Suite (SAS): contacts patient prior to surgery, prepares patient on surgery day and discharges those not staying after surgery.
• Operating Room: confirms and assesses previosly gathered patient information and safely transfers the patient to proper area postoperatively.
• Surgical Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU): safely recovers the patient postoperatively, providing for any needed pain relief and other needs prior to transfer to the appropriate hospital unit.
