TEST INCLUDES: Preparation and cytologic evaluation of submitted specimen. HPV testing available on residual material in specimen vial (sent to Molecular Laboratory).

DEPARTMENT: Cytology

SPECIMEN REQUIREMENT: ThinPrep Pap test vial containing scrapings/brushings of uterine cervix/endocervical canal or vagina rinsed into special collection fluid.

TESTING SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 08:00 - 15:30. Turnaround time: 7 working days.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: Specimen collection requires a brief period of clinician training. Collection kits required for this test are available through laboratory Customer Service (4-LABS) or from the Cytology Laboratory (4-2770).
