How can I schedule an appointment?
Please call us at 434-243-0321 to schedule your exam. All exams require a physician’s order. Prior to scheduling your appointment, we will confirm that we have received the order.
Will I be notified of my scheduled exam?
A member of our Patient Resource Team will personally call you several days prior to your exam to inform you of when you should arrive at our center. It is important that you arrive on time to register and prepare for your exam.
May I eat and drink prior to my exam?
When we personally call you to remind you of your exam, we will also discuss the specific instructions you should follow. You can learn more about preparation instructions here. If you need additional information, please email us or call 434-982-6600 or toll free at 855-875-7764.
How can I get my results?
We will provide the Radiologist’s report directly to your referring provider. They will need time to review the results and consider treatment options prior to contacting you. If you have not heard from them within a reasonable time, please call your referring provider’s office directly.
Can I get the results for another physician?
Yes, you may contact Health Information Services to send your results to another physician. Their phone number is 434-924-5283 and fax 434-243-5995.
Will you accept my insurance?
We participate with many insurance plans and we will seek authorization for your exam from your insurance provider. Please understand that an authorization is not a guarantee of payment. You may wish to contact your insurance company to confirm if your imaging exam will be covered by your policy.
Should an authorization from your insurance provider not be available at the time of your study, you will be asked to sign an insurance waiver. The waiver explains that you are aware that pre-authorization has not yet been obtained or is pending and that you will be responsible for all charges should the coverage ultimately be denied. We will continue to work on obtaining the pre-authorization, however, if you choose not to sign the waiver, we will gladly reschedule your exam once authorization is obtained.
Is any payment due on the day of my exam?
If you have insurance, your portion of your deductible or co-insurance is due at the time of service. We accept cash, check or credit card when you register for your exam.
What if I am not insured?
UVA Imaging will be happy to work out payment arrangements so you can proceed with your exam. We also offer discounts if you can pay the full amount due on the date of your exam. Please contact us if you want to discuss your payment options.

What if I have multiple appointments on one day?
We make every effort to ensure that sufficient time is allowed between appointments. To make the transition between appointments as easy as possible, we can provide a free transportation by taxi to the UVA location of your next appointment. You and your family members can leave your car parked in our convenient lots and travel directly to the entrance nearest your UVA clinic location. We will provide you with the taxi service’s phone number so you can be returned to your car at Fontaine or Northridge for your trip home.
