Fluoroscopy Preparation

Patient Resource Coordinator will contact you to discuss preparation instructions for your specific exam including any liquid or food intake restrictions.

Transportation: If you are having a spine or lower extremity injection, you will need to have transportation to and from our imaging center.

Clothing: You will be asked to change into a gown and scrub pants for your exam.  Wear something lightweight and comfortable that is easy to take on and off.  A locker will be provided to store your clothing during your exam.

Medication & Diet: Your specific exam may require that you stop taking certain medications prior to your exam.  Examples of those medications are blood thinners and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen and Aleve).  If you are taking antibiotics, you will need to finish the course before your procedure.  During your personal appointment call, we will ask if you are taking these medications and will inform you if you need to discontinue taking them.

Arthrogram: If you are having an arthrogram, you will be having an injection and a MRI or CT.  For MRI preparation click here.  For CT preparation click here.
