Health System Academic & Research Employee Council meeting from September 16th, 2004


The Employee Council meeting went on as scheduled this 16th day of September. 

The meeting was called to order by Helen Norfleet-Shiflett, council co-chair.

B. Jeannette Lancaster, Dean of the School of Nursing was the guest speaker. Dean Lancaster started the meeting by explaining the School of Nursing Decade Plan and how three years ago the School of Nursing got very involved with their plan or envision for the school. The plan involves hiring six tenure or tenure track Professors in research by the year 2013. The school has already hired three. Also, new degree programs like the Geriatric Nurse Practitioner (GNP) are now available. Dean Lancaster went on to explain how the School of Nursing has integrated with the School of Medicine on the Decade Plan. Debbie Gausvik from Employee Relations reported that all Performance Evaluations are due by October 15, 2004 to Human Resources.

In new business questions and answers on the University’s charter status can be found by going to Chris Loss from the Provost Office stated this is an informative and highly recommended way to find out about the new charter status.
