The Atrium is located off the main lobby of the Kluge Children's Rehabilitation Center (KCRC). The play area is supervised by one of the Hospital Education Program (HEP) child care teachers. A visit to the Atrium is a positive and often anticipated part of the child's visit to the KCRC. Siblings are welcome. Stories, art projects, and games as well as medical play provide outpatients and siblings with a safe and fun play environment. Supervised play for siblings allows parents to be with their child during his/her doctor visit, therapy, or interpretive session. Art therapy and music therapy are offered weekly.
Hours of operation are 8:45 a.m. - 5:45 p.m. Monday through Friday, with a staff lunch break from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.
All HEP services are free to children and their families. For additional information, contact (434) 924-2658.
