All children, even those experiencing physical, emotional, and mental challenges as a result of hospitalizations, benefit from the opportunity to learn, play, imagine, and create. Simply putting paintbrush to paper or fingers to guitar strings can empower the hospitalized child to participate when other attempts have fallen short or failed. Believing that art and music can assist in the healing process, the Hospital Education Program (HEP) offers weekly art and music therapy to inpatients and outpatients throughout the University of Virginia Children's Hospital.
All HEP services are free to children and their families. For additional information, contact (434) 924-2658.
