Financial Decision Support

We strive to make all reports accurate, timely and useful for management decision-making, and we welcome all questions and suggestions for improvements.

In addition to report production and distribution, the Financial Decision Support department is also responsible for the following:

Action O-I Benchmarking

• Maintenance of database, including department and account mapping
• Submission of quarterly data.
• Coordination of survey questions from UVA to other Action O-I hospitals and from other hospitals to UVA.

PeopleSoft Department Maintenance

• Production of approximately 500 monthly departmental performance reports
• Coordination of PeopleSoft department create/change/close requests

External Surveys

• Coordination, compilation and submission of data for quarterly and annual surveys for external constituents.
• Partial list includes: American Association of Medical Colleges/Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems, American Hospital Association, Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association

UVA Data Needs - reporting Medical Center statistical data to the University for:

Creation of New Reports - to fill customer data needs on an ad-hoc or ongoing basis

The Financial Decision Support department works closely with all areas within Finance, particularly the Budget Office and the MFPA Group. We also work closely with the Decision Support Group within Information Systems to enhance standard reporting of patient data.
