March 2013 Weekend Warrior
The University of Virginia Medical Nutrition Support Team
The 2013 Weekend Warrior Program:
Mini-Nutrition Support Traineeship
Saturday & Sunday, March 16-17, 2013
Program Goals and Target Audience:
The week-long Nutrition Support Traineeship at the University of Virginia Medical Center has been very successful. However, we realize that is not always possible or practical for clinicians to travel to Charlottesville for a full week. The Weekend Warrior was designed to provide as much practical up-to-date information as is possible in a shorter weekend course. Lectures will be enhanced by interactive case studies, question and answer periods, and group discussions.
Topics will include (note: all topics focus on the adult patient):
- Evidence Based Medicine
- Enteral Nutrition
- Fluid and Electrolytes
- ICU Fluid Management, Metabolism and Nutrition Evaluation
- Feeding the Post-Surgical Patient
- Protein and Calorie Determination
- Parenteral Nutrition
