New Short Bowel Syndrome (SBS) Resource Now Available
September 3, 2013
“The Pocket Guide for Patients: Managing Short Bowel Syndrome” by Carol Rees Parrish, MS, RD contains charts and excerpts from the comprehensive guide, “A Patient’s Guide to Managing a Short Bowel.” The abbreviated guide is meant for patients to use ‘on the go’ and to be able to take the information with them.
Living with SBS can be challenging to say the least. Fortunately, there are things that can be done with diet and medications that will help make the GI tract work more effectively and decrease some of the unpleasant side effects of SBS.
Together, the comprehensive and pocket guides provide information to help patients maximize what is left of their GI tract. The goal of this information is to try to help improve quality of life for both patients and their loyal caregivers.
Best of all, these resources are available at no cost to patients or clinicians in the United States and Canada.
