Does Ultrasound improve quadriceps function?

UVa Health System, seeks adults ages 18-40, who have had an ACL injury greater than 6 months ago for research study. The purpose of the research study is to determine if the use of ultrasound can improve muscle function. The study involves several tests to determine how well the thigh muscles function, and 3 applications of ultrasound for the injured knee. The study requires 3 visits lasting between 90 and 120 minutes, separated by a minimum of 1 week. • Study-related muscle testing and ultrasound treatment provided free of charge. • Participants will be compensated $20 for completion of the study.
