The Effect of Dulaglutide on Major Cardiovascular Events in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes: Researching Cardiovascular Events with a Weekly INcretin in Diabetes (REWIND)

The Division of Endocrinology at UVa seeks adults, over age 50 with type 2 diabetes for research study. The purpose of the study is to test the effects of a once-weekly experimental medicine on people with type 2 diabetes. We want to see if there is any effect on the rate of heart disease and stroke developing with people taking the study medicine. The study involves taking one weekly study medicine, blood draws, and EKGs as well as coming in for clinic visits every 3-6 months. Each visit lasting one - two hours. Study-related exams, tests and the experimental medication are provided free of charge.
