A Comparison of Helium versus Xenon in Hyperpolarized Noble Gas Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Cystic Fibrosis Lung Pathology

Lung Imaging with Xenon & Helium Men and women, 18 and older, with cystic fibrosis needed for a lung imaging research study. This study looks at how the air moves in the lungs using an investigational lung imaging technique involving magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with inhaled hyperpolarized xenon and/or helium gas. Additionally, the study involves a physical exam and lung function testing, and can be completed in one 2-4 hour visit. Compensation is $ 50.00 for either helium or xenon imaging; $100.00 for both.
