Preventing Cervical Cancer in Rural, Impoverished Women through Nurse Practitioner Colposcopy Services: Ensuring Patient Safety and Effectiveness.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether having colposcopy available to women close to their homes in rural Southwest Virginia improves the rate of early detection and outcome of cervical cancer. The study involves completing three questionnaires, plus a brief interview. This will take one visit (lasting about 45 minutes) with one mail-in questionnaire completed 10 days later. You will be paid for being in this study: o $25.00 gift certificate - finishing the initial interview o $10.00 gift certificate - completing mail-in questionnaire.
