UVa Health System, Center for Research in Reproduction seeks healthy adolescent girls ages 7 – 18 to participate in a reproductive hormone study. The purpose of the study is to determine how certain hormones contribute to the development of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). This study does not involve any medications; blood draws are a part of both the inpatient and outpatient study visits. There are 2-3 study visits in total including one screening visit that takes about an hour and one 20-hour overnight admission to the Clinical Research Unit. The other study visit is a brief (15 minute) outpatient blood draw. • Study-related exams and tests are provided free of charge. • Compensation for study completion is $100 in Simon gift cards.
