GME Education Subcommittee

Charge

The subcommittee will review all resident/fellow (herein after "resident") education-related activities and make decisions about which items will be brought forward for full GME Discussion.  Members review requests by programs or residents to complete electives at outside institutions and bring forth recommendations to approve or disapprove, or discuss at GMEC meetings (all internal rotations are discussed by the entire GMEC).  In addition, the committee is involved in the development and implementation of institutional curriculum, which cover elements of GME that are required by every program (including, but not limited to professionalism, fatigue, physician wellness, and residents as teachers).  Finally, evaluation processes are reviewed and criteria for requesting changes in program complements are established.
