Centralized and Shared Resources
The Web Development Center offers a variety of modules developed in-house to meet needs that are consistent across the organization. All Health System departments can participate in providing content to these pre-packaged resources, available for both Internet and intranet departmental websites.
Organizational Forms Repository (OFR) - provides departments with a managed area where they can upload, edit, and maintain forms for their department. Departments can then link to their forms area directly from their departmental website. The repository supports a variety of file formats and workflows, e.g., online submission, posting and printing. Please note the the OPR is only accessible to UVa affiliates.
Organizational Policies Repository (OPR) - provides a centralized and searchable resource to those seeking Health System policies. Departments can actively participate in populating and managing their own policies within the repository and then link to their policy area directly from their departmental website. Please note the the OPR is only accessible to UVa affiliates.
Physician's Directory - departments can populate their own departmental Web pages with information residing in this Directory. See this example.
Events Calendar - allows departments to easily manage their events and advertise these events, if they choose to, from a centralized, searchable location on the Health System's websites. Departments can also populate their own departmental Web pages with information residing in this calendar.
Research Faculty Directory - departments can populate their own departmental Web pages with information residing in this Directory.
Clinical Trials - notifying consumers of possible new treatment options is a key component to patient education. The clinical trials repository allows departments to easily advertise their latest clinical trials. See this example.
Web-based Maps and Directions - guide visitors to the Health System, including outlying buildings like the Fontaine Research Park. This service is available for use on the Web and also printable for use by departments to send to visitors with upcoming appointments. Departments can link to their directions directly from their departmental website.
Form Builder - available in the Web Developer's Toolkit enabling departmental web managers to create registration and feedback forms, surveys, etc. This easy-to-use tool quickly builds the form stepping users through a sequence of steps. Results from the form can then be delivered and managed via database, Excel, or email.
Lyris Listserv Manager - for departments who wish to sign-up users for a regular email distribution or newsletter, Lyris allows users to subscribe and unsubscribe directly from the department's website. See this example.
