About the Memorial Service
The UVA Children's Hospital Memorial Service occurs each year in the fall. Parents, family and friends of children who were patients at the UVa
Children's Hospital and who have died are invited to attend. The service celebrates the children's lives, their courage and the love they shared with their families and the staff at the hospital.
Family members, physicians and staff share personal reflections on their work with the children. Artists from the Charlottesville area and the UVA School of Medicine provide the special music. Interfaith clergy offer prayers. Hospital chaplains read the names of children who have died within the last two years. As each child's name is read, family
members are invited to come forward and place a flower on the Tree of Life. Click to read more about the service.
If you are unable to come to the service, you can place a flower on the Virtual Tree of Life - an online memorial.
