Taking Steps to Raise Money, Awareness for Breast Cancer
For the 14th straight year, women will be walking or running in the Charlottesville Women's 4-Miler to fight breast cancer. Last year's race raised a record $100,000, benefiting the University of Virginia Health System Cancer Center's Breast Care Program. This year's proceeds again will stay locally and support patient education, support services, and community outreach.
Make a Donation
If you were not able to sign up for the race, you can still participate by making a donation to the Motivational Mile. This unique aspect of the event is truly a sight to see. It honors those affected by cancer by displaying the names along the last mile of the course. The names stretch along the fence line, reminding runners that with each step they are fighting cancer.
