Cardiovascular research holds enormous promise to lead us to new and innovative strategies for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Physician-Scientists are vital members of the cardiovascular research community as the scientific questions they ask come directly from their experiences in caring for patients with cardiovascular problems.
The Physician-Scientist Training Program in Cardiovascular Disease at the University of Virginia is dedicated to imbuing Physician-Scientists with keen clinical insight, strong physiological and pathophysiological understanding, and state-of-the-art cellular, molecular, genetic, and genomic technology expertise.
