Understanding Vascular Disease
Welcome to UVa's Vascular Services Care Unit, which provides treatment to people who have vascular disease. The first service of its kind in the state, the Vascular Services Care Unit provides inpatient adult care in a dedicated hospital setting.

 

Some 15 million people in the United States have vascular disorders, although half of them exhibit no symptoms. It's the number one killer in the country. The Vascular Services Care Unit focuses on providing consistent postoperative and postprocedure care to patients with the primary diagnosis of peripheral artery disease, mesenteric artery disease, venous disease, renal artery disease, carotid artery disease and abdominal aortic aneurysms.
