27th Annual Boar's Head Turkey Trot. This annual Thanksgiving Day event, sponsored by Boar's Head Inn & Sports Club, is a fun way for runners, walkers, and participants of all ages to celebrate the holiday and support UVA Children's Hospital. Online registration begins on October 21st. |

Motorcycle Raffle Benefits University of Virginia Children's Hospital. On August 16, 2008, Cleve Brannock of Charlottesville, VA became the proud owner of a 2008 Harley Davidson Crossbones motorcycle. The motorcycle was autographed by Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band when they played at the John Paul Jones Arena in April 2008. The raffle was organized by Log a Load for Kids and raised more than $50,000 to benefit the UVA Children's Hospital. Our very grateful and sincere thanks go out to all who made this happen!

UVA Children's Hospital Telethon. The 2008 Telethon was a huge success, raising $1.6 million to help fund a new Children's Hospital facility, renovations in the pediatric primary care center, pediatric research, and special comforts for hospitalized kids. The Klöckner-sponsored Walk for Kids played a major role in the Telethon's success, drawing participants of all ages. Mark your calendars now for next year's Telethon on May 30-31, 2009.
