UVA CARE Staff Information

UVA CARE was established by Professor Bankole Johnson MD , shortly after he accepted the Chairmanship of the Department of Psychiatric Medicine at the University of Virginia. 

UVA CARE represents a continuation of the important work Professor Johnson has conducted throughout his distinguished career. Prior to coming to the University of Virginia, Dr. Johnson was a professor of Psychiatry and Pharmacology, the deputy Chairman for research, chief of the Division of Alcohol & Drug Addiction and the director of the S.T.A.R.T. center in San Antonio, Texas with the University of Texas Health Science Center.  

UVA CARE is directed by Dr. Nassima Ait-Daoud .

Additionally, UVA CARE is staffed by dedicated psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, research fellows and research specialists who all strive to maintain the high integrity of UVA CARE'sclinic trials.
