Transportation & Distribution Services
Transportation & Distribution Services provides in-house transportation of inpatients and outpatients, via stretchers and wheelchairs, throughout the University Hospital, the Primary Care Center, and the West Complex.
In addition the department provides shuttle services for patients, guests and employees between health sytem facilities.
Medical Center Shuttle: Runs on a continuous loop Monday - Friday between 8 am & 6 pm. Travels from University Hospital to the West Hospital, 1222 JPA and both the 11th St & Lee St parking garages in order to provide patients & guests with quick & easy access from parking locations to appointments.
Fontaine Research Park Shuttle: Runs Monday - Friday, between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm. Routine stops include University Hospital, Health South, Fontaine Clinical Building & the West Hospital.
Northridge Shuttle: Runs Monday - Friday, between 8:00 am and 4:15 pm on a request basis. Routine stops include University Hospital, Northridge, & KCRC.
Hospitality Shuttle: Runs on a Week Day Schedule Monday - Friday between 7:20 am & 7:00 pm. The Weekend Schedule provides a reduced number of trips between 7:20 AM & 9:45 PM. During off hours shuttle service is provided by request through the Resource Support Center (434) 982-1600. Routine stops include University Hospital, Hospitality House, West Hospital & Ronald McDonald House.
