Remote Area Medical Clinic
July 23-25, 2004

This year, a team of eight Telemedicine employees volunteered in Wise, Virginia for the annual Remote Area Medical Clinic, sponsored by St. Mary's Hospital.  Over the three-day clinic, a total of 6,026 encounters were made in a variety of specialties.  866 volunteers came from all over Virginia, including 118 volunteers from the University of Virginia Health System.  Telemedicine saw a total of 34 patients in three specialties, including diabetic retinopathy screening, new this year to RAM.
