Recent Freedom Calls Conferences

 

January 31, 2007: UVA Telemedicine participated in the 10th Annual Congressional Internet Caucus on January 31, 2007.  This year we again connected with our military in Iraq using the Freedom Calls Network.  Over 75 Caucus participants talked to our deployed military.

December 25, 2006: Servicemen in Al Asad had a special Christmas meeting with family members in Charlottesville.

November 12, 2005: In collaboration with Freedom Calls and the University of Virginia Athletic Department, The Office of Telemedicine broadcasted the UVA vs. Georgia Tech game live to soldiers in Taji, Iraq.  Local families involved in Freedom Calls received video messages from loved ones serving in Iraq and participated in a flag ceremony at half-time.

November 11, 2005: Captain Scott Feathers talks to his wife Leigh, mother-in-law Sharon, and father-in-law Ed from Taji, Iraq.  Captain Feathers was especially excited to see his wife who is four months pregnant with their first child.

October 30, 2005:  Parents Patricia and Fred Morris connect to their son Captain Dan Morris in Taji, Iraq.
