Research in TCV Surgery is conducted in two adjacent labs in Bldg. MR4 rooms 3111 and 3115.

Room 3115 is an animal surgery room where we conduct most of our animal studies including: 1) isolated, blood-perfused rabbit lung model, 2) isolated, buffer-perfused mouse lung model, 3) rat cardiopulmonary bypass model, 4) mouse and rat pneumonectomy. In this room we also have two blood-gas machines, a cytospin 3 centrifuge and several binocular operating microscopes with live video.

Room 3111 is a dedicated cell & molecular biology lab where we have equipment such as an Alpha Innotech FluorChem 8900 for gel documentation and analysis, cell culture hood and incubators, Olympus inverted microscope, Nikon phase contrast microscope with digital camera, Sorval RC-5B floor centrifuge, PCR machine, spectrophotometer, pH meter, balances, refrigerated microcentrifuge, swinging bucket refrigerated centrifige, etc.
