The most important education gained by personnel in the TCV Lab is in conducting hypothesis-driven research. We enjoy providing hands-on training to Residents, Postdocs and students to learn how to:
-
Formulate hypotheses
-
Design studies to test hypotheses
-
Plan and perform experiments
-
Analyze data
-
Write abstracts, research papers and grant applications
-
Present research in the form of poster or oral presentations
We encourage all Residents and Postdocs to enroll in and participate in any classes of interest which are widely available both within the University of Virginia and outside.
Available to Residents are several conferences each week, some of which are planned and conducted by the resident staff with the collaboration and participation of the faculty. These include:
One popular class held each spring is Vacular Biology, directed by Dr. Brian Duling.
