Ramesh joined the UVA surgical residency program after transferring from the Republic of Ireland, where he completed his medical education and basic surgical training in 2003. His lab research involved ischemia-reperfusion injury associated with lung transplantation utilizing the isolated rabbit lung model.

Carlos came to us from Columbia and was instrumental in setting up our rat model of cardiopulmonary bypass where we're working in collaboration with Dr. Kevin Lee on the neurological effects of bypass.
Carlos is now in the Surgery Residency Program here at UVA.

Jonathan came to us from the U.K. and his studies concentrated on spinal cord injury and protective effects of adenosine A2A activation. He is now a general practice registrar (final year resident) at the Plas Fynnon Medical Center, Oswestry, Shropshire, U.K.
